Getting Started with CueCrux
Your First Steps to Credible, Cited Answers
CueCrux is a verifiable knowledge platform designed to give you answers you can prove. Every serious response includes citations, timestamps, quote spans, licences, and evidence hashes, and (in Verified/Audit workflows) a signed CROWN receipt you can replay independently.
This guide covers account setup, WebCrux navigation, trust modes, CRUX credits, artefact ownership, and how participation rewards work when your evidence becomes part of a QUORUM (MiSES) (MiSES = Minimal Evidence Set).
1. Create Your CueCrux Account
1.1 Registration
Visit https://cuecrux.com/register (or the current signup route in your environment) and complete:
- Email verification
- Password setup
- Optional: Choose a plan
All users receive:
- A personal profile
- History & saved answers
- A Crux wallet
- Access to light & verified modes (Starter limits apply)
2. Understanding WebCrux (Your Interface)
WebCrux is the secure front‑end that talks to the Engine.
2.1 The Main Sections
| Section | Purpose |
|---|---|
| Ask | Query CueCrux in light, verified, or audit mode. |
| Answers View | See citations, evidence, domains, timestamps, and the Why Trust panel. |
| History | A timeline of everything you’ve asked. |
| Saved | Your curated, persistent collection of answers. |
| Workspaces | Shared team environments. |
| Profile | Sessions, devices, plan, Crux balance. |
| Settings | Themes, language, modes, and security options. |
2.2 Modes Explained
- Light: fast, low-cost exploration. Citations may be lighter and domain diversity may not be enforced.
- Verified: the recommended default for work you’ll share. Enforces provenance checks and uses QUORUM (MiSES) to form a minimal evidence set; aims for ≥2 independent domains when available.
- Audit: high‑stakes mode. Adds deterministic replay, counterfactual searching, and requires a signed CROWN receipt.
3. Account Levels & Capabilities
CueCrux plans determine compute budgets, storage, and evidence depth.
| Plan | Includes |
|---|---|
| Starter | 50 verified queries (≈ 50 CRUX credits), saves, history, basic CRUX wallet. |
| Pro | 1,000 verified queries (≈ 1,000 CRUX credits), Audit mode, Collections, larger storage. |
| Team | Shared Crux pool, org workspaces, reporting. |
| Enterprise / Private Stack | Siloed environments, mTLS, federated proofs. |
Private Stack offers isolated retrieval lanes with separate namespaces.
4. The CueCrux Mindset
CueCrux is an evidence-first system, not an answer guesser.
Before asking, consider:
- What claim do I need to verify?
- Which domains matter?
- Do I need speed or certainty?
- Will I reuse this answer later?
CueCrux is designed around:
- Verifiable retrieval
- QUORUM (MiSES) (Quorum of Unified Observations and Referenced Underlying Material)
- Provenance hashing
- Contradiction detection
- Reproducible receipts
5. Asking, Saving & Reusing Answers
5.1 Asking
Enter a question, choose a mode, and CueCrux does:
- Hybrid retrieval (BM25 + pgvector)
- QUORUM (MiSES) evidence selection
- Counterfactual probing (Audit)
- BLAKE3 hashing
- CROWN receipt creation
5.2 Saving Answers
Saved answers store:
answer_idsnapshot_id- Mode & metadata
- Evidence references
Artefacts remain in the Engine (Postgres is SoT). WebCrux stores pointers only.
5.3 Reuse
Each answer includes:
- Quotes
- Timestamps
- Domain diversity
- Why Trust analysis
- Provenance status
Export trust reports (Pro+) or re-run answers in deeper modes.
6. Artefacts: Creation, Ownership & Lifecycle
6.1 How Artefacts Get Created
Artefacts are created when:
- Your queries retrieve snippets
- You suggest URLs
- You upload documents via FactoryCrux
FactoryCrux enforces legal & technical safety:
- robots.txt
- X-Robots-Tag
- Licence tagging
- PII detection
- Conditional GET re-ingest policies
6.2 Ownership
You retain IP in material you upload.
CueCrux receives a non-exclusive licence to use your uploads within the platform (answering, retrieval, provenance, and receipts).
6.3 Storage Duration
- Artefacts remain available while your subscription is active.
- If a subscription lapses, artefacts move to cold storage.
- They can be reactivated on return to a paid plan, subject to retention windows.
7. Crux Credits
Crux is the internal unit of compute & storage inside CueCrux.
Crux is not a token, not transferable, not speculative, and not an investment.
It is a metering credit, governed by operational cost indices.
7.1 How Crux Value Is Calculated
Crux pricing is based strictly on:
- Verified-mode retrieval cost
- Model/infra cost
- Storage consumption
- Provenance & QUORUM (MiSES) compute
- C³ budget envelopes
Crux valuation is dynamic and recalibrated by the Proof Cost Index (PCI) so it tracks real verified-mode compute, storage, and provenance costs rather than a fixed currency peg.
Reviewed quarterly against real operating costs.
Not tied to profit, speculation, or supply.
7.2 Spending Crux
| Action | Cost |
|---|---|
| Verified query | 1 Crux |
| Audit query | 5 Crux |
| Fast-lane priority | 2 Crux |
| Hot storage | 1 Crux / 10MB / month |
You always see the estimated spend before running.
7.3 Earning Crux (Participation Rewards)
CueCrux rewards verifiable contributions:
| Contribution | Reward |
|---|---|
| Link used in QUORUM (MiSES) | +10 Crux |
| Upload committed (licence OK) | +1 Crux/MB |
| MiSES reuse | +5 Crux × reuse_count |
| First-capture bonus | Up to ×5 |
| Successful audit receipt | +15 Crux |
| Curation/tagging | +2 Crux |
All mints & spends are fully ledgered for transparency.
7.4 Fiat Redemption Programme (Staged for future realease)
CueCrux operates an opt‑in redemption programme that allows users to exchange Crux earned from QUORUM (MiSES) contributions for fiat.
Key Principles
- Only CRUX earned through verified evidence contributions is redeemable.
- Redemption price is fixed by operational value, not market demand.
- Absolutely no speculation or trading.
- No transfers between users.
- Not a token, currency, or investment vehicle.
This maintains compliance while recognising the value of user‑provided verified evidence.
8. Security & Data Protection
CueCrux follows platform-wide security standards:
- Short-lived access JWTs
- HttpOnly refresh cookies
- BFF isolation (no Engine secrets in your browser)
- Rate limits & anomaly detection
- Quarterly signing key rotation
- Session/device ledger
- Provenance hashing + receipts
InfraCrux maintains the observability plane, backups, and SLOs.
9. What Type of System CueCrux Is
CueCrux is not a cryptocurrency, LLM product, or search engine.
CueCrux is a:
Verifiable Evidence & Knowledge System
A platform built on:
- Provenance
- Evidence minimisation
- Temporal validity
- Modes (light/verified/audit)
- Signed receipts
- Trust dashboards
Technically, it is a multi-plane architecture consisting of Engine, WebCrux, FactoryCrux, SDKCrux, WatchCrux, InfraCrux, and OpsCrux each with strict contracts and health/metrics surfaces.
CueCrux is built to be:
- Evidence-first
- Cost-conditioned
- Audit-friendly
- Legally safe
- Enterprise-ready
10. Next Steps
- Run your first verified query.
- Inspect citations & expand the Why Trust panel.
- Save answers & build your workspace.
- Suggest a link earn Crux as it’s reused.
- Explore audit mode and receipts when you need maximum certainty.
Finally, Welcome to the Platform and enjoy Cruxing!
